Hrafnhildur 9th in the world over 200m bringusund 06.08.2015
Kazan, RUS - A new Icelandic record of 2.23.06 in 200m bringusund was necessary for Hrafnhildur Lúthersdóttir to reach the 8th and final place in her semi-finals. That worked just great with a better swim than her record of the morning.
Unfortunately the Chinese swimmer Jinglin Shi realized the same time, so both had to swim again after the session in a swim-off.
Hrafnhildur was leading over the first 100m, then Shi could overtake her, winning by 2.23.7 vs. Hrafnhildur's 2.15.11 - this would have been yesterday still an Icelandic record, and today this means rank 9 in these World championships. Quite an improvement compared to the starting lists.

Congratulations to our exhausted breast stroke swimmer from all her friends in Iceland.

Anton McKee finished 13th in a 2.10-time and can go now in his well deserved holidays. Congratulations as well.
