HM in Doha: Hrafnhildur smashes Icelandic record in 100m bringusund 05.12.2014
The World Short Course Championships in Doha have arrived on the top. On the middle day Hrafnhildur Lúthersdóttir really smashed her own Icelandic record over 100m bringusund in 1.06.26. Her old record was swum also in Doha at the world cup just in August, where she won bronce in 1.06.88. With this result she was again only short away from the semi-finals: 0.14 seconds were missing.
Kolbeinn Hrafnkelsson swam in his major race 0.26.10 over 50m baksund. He had a great season before, where he could improve his best time in this race several times. Today he could manage to race with a high stroke rate but missed the feeling for the water. So this result is not his absolut best, but still far under the lágmark. He will race tomorrow and wants to improve his best in 100m fjórsund.

Already yesterday Hrafnhildur and Davíð Hildiberg were part of the 4x50m fjórsund mixed relay team, which established a new Icelandic record as well.
Eygló Ósk and Daníel Hannes Pálsson were the other two swimmers, who can celebrate their new merits.

All swimmers of the Icelandic team performed good to great, with one more Icelandic record for Inga Elín Cryer over 400m skriðsund.

Two days to go.
Saturday: 50m back with Eygló Ósk - 100m free with Kristófer Sigurðsson - 100m fjórsund with Kolbeinn og Kristinn - and the 4x50m freestyle mixed relay.
Sunday: 200m back with Kristinn and Davíð Hildiberg - 200m bringa with Hrafnhildur - 4x100m fjórsund men's relay
