Parallel to the World Championships FINA conducts her first Youth Training Program.
SSÍ had selected Ólafur Sigurðsson from SH and Sunneva Dögg Friðriksdóttir, as a coach our Mladen Tepavcevic.
Every country was invited to send their 1 best male and female junior swimmer, together with a junior coach. That large group from ca. 180 countries will train together, watch the HM. Meeting new people, understanding different cultures and learn other training attitudes and approaches: a lot to experience for these young swimmers.
The Icelandic team arrived on Tuesday night and will start their program on Wednesday.
