Many Personal Best Times of SH-Team on the CIJ-Meeting in Luxembourg
After the first Finals-session the 12-swimmer team of SH is proud to report many new personal best times, several finals qualifications and even three podium places.
Ólafur Sigurðsson won silver in 100m bringusund and bronze in 100m skrið, while Sunna Svanlaug Vilhjálmsdóttir succeeded in 100m bringusund with a silver medal.
María Fanney Kristjánsdóttir performed twice in a final: in the open class 400m fjórsund and 200m baksund junior final, in 200m bak together with Katarína Róbertsdóttir.
Harpa Ingþórsdóttir raced in the open 400m skriðsunds final and placed 5th in the 800m direct decision.
Further finalists were Hafþór Jón Sigurðsson in the 200m flugsund, where also Hildur Elísabet Hálfdanardóttir could race a second time. Natalia Cecylia Wojdat improved her best time in her 100m bringa final as well.
All already mentioned swimmers had more several excellent results and personal best times, as well as their teammates:
Eyrún Agla Friðriksdóttir performed with brilliant best times in 800 and 400m skriðsund, Hildur again in 800m as well.
Kári Sölvi Nielsen improved immense his 50, 100 and 400m skriðsund, Jón Tumi Dagsson his 100m skrið.
Jökull Ýmir Guðmundsson exploded especially in the 50 and 200m flugsund.
More to be expected tomorrow… all swimmers are eager to repeat their improvements one more day.
Our FINA-referee Sigurður Óli Guðmundsson acted during all sessions, and was a big support for teaching the local referees and organizers about the new backstroke ledge, which was used in Luxembourg just the second time.
